ADVISORY - HARRISBURG - TUESDAY - PUC Launches Enhanced #UtilityCareers Campaign; Chairman Brown Joins State Leaders & Utilities Encouraging Skilled Candidates to Consider Opportunities

September 21, 2018

HARRISBURG – Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) Chairman Gladys M. Brown will hold a press conference at 11:00 a.m. on Tues., Sept. 25, at the Capitol Media Center, State Capitol, Room 01 East Wing, Harrisburg, to launch an enhanced campaign to encourage more skilled candidates to consider career opportunities in the utility sector.

WHAT:           #UtilityCareers Press Conference
WHEN:          Tuesday, September 25, 11:00 a.m.
WHERE:        Capitol Media Center, State Capitol, Room 01, East Wing, Harrisburg, PA 17126

Chairman Brown will be joined by leaders from the legislature, state agencies and utilities from across the Commonwealth to spotlight the types of careers available for talented individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Statewide and throughout the country there is a strong anticipated need for skilled utility workers, driven by a combination of factors – including an aging current workforce as well as the growth of new systems and technologies.

“There are numerous #UtilityCareers opportunities all around us – offering good wages, growth opportunities and the chance to make a difference in our communities – but they can often ‘hide in plain sight’ because students and other job-seekers are unaware of the options available to them,” noted Chairman Brown.

NOTE: The press conference will include the premier of new social media videos highlighting #UtilityCareers opportunities and the launch of a micro-website intended to serve as an enhanced source of information about utility opportunities in Pennsylvania.
